This article will be about the revamp of potions and buffs in 4.0, which our version is expecting very soon, on December 6th.

Combat Buffs

Honor Potions

Dawn of Glory

Honor Potions (Dawn of Glory) have been changed pretty substantially. They now give flat amounts of buffs instead of percentages. In addition to that, Dawn of Glories are now tradeable and auctionable in Korea.

Honor Potions now cost 500 Honor instead of 300 Honor.

Players will be able to choose one of the following buffs at a time:

  • Increases Melee Attack by 64.
  • Increases Magic Attack by 64.
  • Increases Ranged Attack by 64.
  • Increases Healing Power by 64.
  • Increases Focus by 720.

While the new versions of the buffs certainly are nerfs to the existing version of the Honor Potion, this new version of the Honor Potion can be enhanced by two items: Fortuna Die, and Divine Fortuna Die.

Fortuna Die

Using a Fortuna Die while under the effects of a Dawn of Glory enhances the buff that you selected to one of the following:

  • Increases Melee Attack by 70.
  • Increases Magic Attack by 70.
  • Increases Ranged Attack by 70.
  • Increases Healing Power by 70.
  • Increases Focus by 780.

Also, using a Fortuna Die while under the effects of a Dawn of Glory fully refreshes the timer on your selected Dawn of Glory buff to 30 minutes. So, if your Dawn of Glory buff is running out, just use one of these, and you’ll have 30 more minutes of that sweet Dawn of Glory buff you selected!

Fortuna Dies are craftable, but also, one is given every time you take a Hero Call. I’m not sure if there is another way of obtaining it.

The crafting recipe is as follows:

  • 1 Stone Brick
  • 1 Iron Ingot
  • 1 Glossy Feather
  • 5 Narcissus

Divine Fortuna Die

Using a Divine Fortuna Die while under the effects of a Dawn of Glory enhances the buff that you selected to one of the following:

  • Increases Melee Attack by 80.
  • Increases Magic Attack by 80.
  • Increases Ranged Attack by 80.
  • Increases Healing Power by 80.
  • Increases Focus by 900.

Also, using a Divine Fortuna Die while under the effects of a Dawn of Glory fully refreshes the timer on your selected Dawn of Glory buff to 30 minutes. So, if your Dawn of Glory buff is running out, just use one of these, and you’ll have 30 more minutes of that sweet Dawn of Glory buff you selected!

The crafting recipe is as follows:

  • 5 Fortuna Die
  • 1 Sturdy Stone
  • 5 Gold Ingot
  • 10 Lily


Food Buffs

With 4.0, XLGames has decided to simplify Food buffs a bit, combining the traditional Assorted food buffs with the Jujube Juice and Jujube Wine.

In the table below, you can see all of the Food buffs with their effects, along with their crafting recipes.

Can be used up to 10 times before disappearing.
When used while under the effect of another Food buff, only the latter is retained.

War Drum

The War Drum is now produced as a sealed product, and as one that is tradeable. After unsealing a War Drum, it becomes bound and is usable for the next 30 minutes. You can place it on the ground during this time period, and use it to receive the War Drum buff. The War Drum disappears after the 30 minutes are up.

The way that players receive the War Drum buff has not changed.

The buff, which is as follows, lasts for 30 minutes. It does not disappear upon death.

  • Increases Melee Attack by 5.
  • Increases Magic Attack by 5.
  • Increases Healing Power by 5.
  • Damage received reduced by 5%.

The crafting recipe is as follows:

  • 50 Lumber
  • 50 Leather
  • 2 Heavy Hardwood

Combat Scrolls

Combat Scrolls, such as Combat Scroll: Toughness, remain the same as before.


Defense Potions

Defense Potions, most importantly Kingdom’s Heart and Ancient Library Relics, are getting completely taken out of the game. There is no replacement.

They can be converted into the materials used to create them by clicking on them or by visiting a special toolbench in Mirage Isle.


Runes and Dies

Dies were covered in the Honor Potions section.

Runes and Dies as they are right now, with combining Runes such as the Valau Zena and the Valau Basta, have been removed from the game.

Obsolete Runes can be converted into the materials used to create them by clicking on them or by visiting a special toolbench in Mirage Isle.


Books

Most of the Spellbooks and Combat Manuals have been completely removed, including Unstoppable Force and Brickwall Spellbooks. Instead, a universal Spellbook has taken their place, which in our version currently is the Combat Manual. It’s important to note that this is the same exact Combat Manual as in our version in terms of the buffs.

Players will be able to select one of the following effects at a time as their buff:

  • Increases all stats by +50 (Strength, Spirit, etc.).
  • Increases Movement Speed by +7%.
  • Increases Skill damage/healing effectiveness by +4%
  • Decreases Received damage by -5%

The buff lasts for 30 minutes.


Non-Combat Buffs

Draught of Forgiveness

As many of you may know, there is a certain method in which pirates can own castles on servers (Via a puppet guild, mainland guild, or the such). But, in order to do that, every time there is an actual siege, pirates need to de-pirate, that is, have their Infamy reach 0, and doing that requires every pirate in the siege to drink at least 30 Draughts of Forgiveness (Generally).

XLGames seems to think that this is a problem, and as a result, they have added a cooldown to the use of a Draught of Forgiveness. From now on, players must wait a 3 hour cooldown to use another Draught of Forgiveness after they use one.

Draughts of Forgiveness now also cost 5,000 Honor each. They still reduce your Infamy by -100 Infamy per Draught.

Do bear in mind that Trion has stated that the change to the cooldown of Draughts will very likely not be implemented with 4.0 in our version.

    Do you know what the materials will be on the upgraded houses to make the new improved meats? Or will they be unchanged?

    Thanks for the posts as always.

    Damn that rib recipe is basic AF, can they be mass produced in one shot like they are currently on apothecary houses or do you have to go through the stages? Also what even are fruit trees except moringa for anymore.. just orchard puree for packs?

    Do you know if combat manuals are craftable or how they are gained? Thanks for the 411 man!

    What will happen with our existing Jujube Juice and jujube wine stocks? Will they be converted into the new meats, or break down into its original mats, or some other option?
